Shelton Joins NBC’s Red Nose Day Special this Thursday, May 23

Less than two months since it debuted and only six weeks into its run at country radio, the words of Blake Shelton’s latest single are resonating all throughout “God’s Country” – this week the smash anthem tops the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart, marking his fourteenth entry at No. 1. “God’s Country” has racked up more than 50 million on-demand streams and has already surpassed 500,000 track equivalent sales. The “Southern-rockin’ country stomper” (Rolling Stone) is also heating up the airwaves as it quickly nears the Top 10 at country radio.

Shelton debuted the “chest-thumping anthem” (Billboard) last month at the 54th ACM Awards to critical and fan acclaim, with the Las Vegas Review-Journal declaring that his performance “smoldered like the wildfires raging on the video screens behind [him].” The single’s official music video, directed by GRAMMY Award-winning director Sophie Muller and shot in Shelton’s native Oklahoma, offers the same thunderous intensity (watch HERE). The massive, multi-media entertainer brought “God’s Country” to The Voice stage last week and will celebrate the show’s season finale tonight.

Fans can tune into the fifth annual Red Nose Day Special on NBC this Thursday, May 23 at 8:00pm/7:00c to catch another performance of the single. The next day Shelton will travel to his hometown of Tishomingo, OK to celebrate the grand opening of The Doghouse at the original Ole Red location. The Doghouse is a music hall and events venue expansion to the Shelton-inspired bar and restaurant. Tickets from both his Friday night concert and Luke Bryan’s set the previous evening will benefit the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Foundation.

Earlier this spring Shelton hit the road for his “Friends & Heroes 2019” tour, which earned the Platinum-selling entertainer a spot on Pollstar’s “Top 100 Tours in Q1” list. Featuring special guest Lauren Alaina and with special appearances by the Bellamy Brothers, John Anderson and Trace Adkins, the arena run sold out all 18 dates and was one of the only nine country tours to make the list. Outlets from all over praised the tour including the Indianapolis Star, Des Moines Register and The Buffalo News, who declared, “Blake Shelton brought his good ‘ole boy charm and musical chops… delivering without flaw what his fans came to see” and praised his “high energy, easy-going banter and good humor.”

Over the past year Shelton enjoyed continued success following the release of his chart-topping album Texoma Shore, which produced his 25th No. 1 single with his Gold-certified smash “I’ll Name The Dogs” and the GRAMMY-nominated hit “I Lived It.” He has been recognized for countless honors throughout his career including 20 ACM nominations and both the male and overall Video of the Year trophies at the 2018 CMT Awards. Offstage, Shelton remains focused on his Ole Red partnership with Ryman Hospitality, recently opening a new location in Gatlinburg, TN, joining those in Nashville and Tishomingo.
