Blake's 'Came Here To Forget' Video Set For Unprecedented Debut From Discovery's Deadliest Catch

Blake and Discovery are teaming up for a blockbuster night of premieres Tuesday, as the 12th season of hit reality series Deadliest Catch kicks off with the help of the Warner Bros. Records/Warner Music Nashville recording artist’s video for hot new single “Came Here to Forget.”

Shelton’s new video will make its world-debut in a unique partnership with the highly anticipated season premiere of Deadliest Catch, airing at 9 p.m. ET/PT Tuesday night. Viewers will see an exclusive:30 clip of the video during Discovery’s two-hour block of programming, after which the music video in its entirety will be available on the network’s Facebook page. The video will be available at all outlets at 8 a.m. ET Wednesday.

Fresh off his “Blake Shelton 2016 Tour Presented by Gildan,” the recent release of “Came Here to Forget” marks the start of the next chapter in “The Voice” coach’s recording career. It’s the first single from his forthcoming 12th studio album, If I’m Honest, due May 20 on Warner Bros. Records.

Shelton says he’s never had a song that’s “such a direct look into my life.” Written by Craig Wiseman and Deric Ruttan, “Came Here To Forget” is an intimate snapshot of a couple’s encounter at a bar. Discovery Channel inspires viewers to explore the world, and exploration often comes at a time when you need to get away and start fresh, one of the song’s themes.

“Came Here to Forget” debuted at No. 18 upon release, tying Shelton’s career best, and is rapidly climbing the charts. Shelton is country music’s flagship artist with a modern record 21 consecutive No. 1 singles. “Deadliest Catch” is Discovery’s flagship show, drawing 4 million viewers each week.

The release of “Came Here to Forget” marks the start of another busy period for the music star. He’s in the midst of his 10th season as a coach on The Voice with fellow stars Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams.

It was also recently announced that he will be the subject of a career-spanning exhibition at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum in Nashville, Tennessee. Blake Shelton: Based on a True Story, which opens May 27, 2016, will examine the star’s road to success, from his childhood to his move to Nashville as a teen, and from his multi-platinum recording breakthrough to becoming a national celebrity. A range of artifacts, including stage wear, instruments, song manuscripts, photos and personal items will help tell the story of Shelton’s struggles and triumphs.
