Two Weekends Running for a Six-Pack of Sold-Out Dates

Surprise Performance of “Nobody But You” with Gwen Stefani in Bakersfield

Fans are loving Blake Shelton’s tour as much as he and his friends are. The second weekend of his Friends and Heroes 2020 tour wrapped with three more sold out shows. The party began in Bakersfield where fans were treated to a little extra star power when pop icon Gwen Stefani joined Shelton on stage to perform their Top 20 (and climbing) duet, “Nobody But You.” From there, the tour moved on to Fresno and celebrating like Kings in Sacramento on Saturday night.

“I moved to Nashville when I was 17 years old to get a record deal, get my songs played on the radio and go on tour to play my music. I’m living that dream out here on the road with several of my friends and heroes, and I’m so glad y’all are having as much fun as we are,” said Shelton. “‘Cause we’re having a damn blast! Can’t wait to fire this thing up again Thursday night in Salt Lake.”

The West Coast run followed back-to-back-to-back sold out shows over opening weekend at Portland’s Moda Center, The Tacoma Dome and Spokane Arena. Crowds were on their feet all night cheering and singing along, inspiring Shelton to exclaim succinctly on social media: “Damn y’all! First weekend of the Friends and Heroes tour… Incredible!”

The Seattle Times said that, “for a night, Shelton took Tacoma south, into God’s country” and noted that “as the Times’ resident Southerner but not a country-music listener, even I must admit: Blake Shelton knows how to show folks a great time.” The Spokesman-Review similarly declared: “The four-hour celebration of country music old and new was equally a showcase for Shelton’s natural charisma, talent and humor and Shelton’s friends and heroes… the jam-packed Arena was on its feet for much of the evening – even during ballads – with ringleader Shelton keeping the energy up for a solid Saturday night setlist of 40-plus songs in Spokane country.”

Along with his extensive catalog of massive hit songs, Shelton’s set includes cuts from his most recent No. 1 album,  Fully Loaded: God’s Country. Holding the title of third biggest debut-week sales total for a country album in 2019, the project’s title track and CMA Single of the Year winner “God’s Country” was the second most-streamed country song released in 2019. The smash hit became Shelton’s 26th No. 1 on country radio, where it remained for a multi-week run, in addition to his 16th No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Friends and Heroes 2020 will hit major cities throughout the Midwest and West Coast, including a stop at The Forum in Los Angeles (full list below). Joining him is very special guest Lauren Alaina as well as appearances by The Bellamy Brothers, John Anderson and Trace Adkins.

    ABOUT BLAKE SHELTON

Blake Shelton continues to add to his superstar status. His current single “Nobody But You” with Gwen Stefani was most-added at country radio upon impact and debuted at No. 1 on the all-genre iTunes Songs chart. It is Top 20 and climbing at country radio after just five weeks. The song made its TV debut on the 62nd GRAMMY Awards, where Shelton was also nominated for Best Country Solo Performance for his smash “God’s Country.” One of the fastest country songs in 2019 to reach one million track equivalents, “God’s Country” also earned the 2019 CMA Award for Single of the Year and was the second highest most streamed country song released in 2019. It became his 26th No. 1 on country radio, where it remained for a multi-week run, and marked his 16th No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Both tracks are featured on Fully Loaded: God’s Country, which was Shelton’s seventh and most recent album to debut at No. 1 on the BillboardCountry Albums chart. He has also teamed up with the legendary Garth Brooks for the Top 5 and climbing single “Dive Bar.”

An advocate for country music past and present, the Platinum-selling entertainer will honor his Friends and Heroes on his headlining tour this year (with very special guest Lauren Alaina as well as appearances by The Bellamy Brothers, John Anderson and Adkins). As a coach for the Emmy Award-winning television show The Voice, Shelton is a six-time champion, most recently with his contestant Chloe Kohanski. The Grand Ole Opry member also remains focused on his Ole Red partnership with Ryman Hospitality.
