Question for Warner Bros or whoever is in charge of such things

I'm hearing rumors that a song off the new album (Hillbilly somethingorother) is going to be the next single. Apparently Blake's already done a video shoot for it and everything.
My question is am I correct then in assuming that we will get no more singles off of 'Startin' Fires' since we're moving on to new music now? If so, I think that's a mistake. Home Sweet Home, Good At Startin' Fires, and 100 Miles all deserve a chance to chart. In fact, there's probably a handful of other songs off 'Startin' Fires' that deserve a serious discussion about their merits as a single as well.
I'd urge Warner Bros to reconsider this decision and not give up on some of the amazing stuff on 'Startin' Fires' just because of a lackluster performance of 'I'll Just Hold On' (which incidentally wouldn't have been my choice for the 2nd single anyway but nobody asks me - maybe you should
)
I wondered about that, too. Only 2 singles from this album? I think "Good At Startin Fires", "100 Miles" or "This Is Gonna Take All Night" would be SO EXTREMELY popular. How can you not listen and love those songs? I'd say at least give one more a chance. But whatever Blake wants to do.....

Renea, I agree with some of what you are saying, but have to disagree with the lackluster of I'll Just Hold On. Didn't it peak at # 8 or #6, I'd say not too shabby for not having a video released with it. Just had to add that since that was my favorite song on the cd.
Another question to WB, why are we, the loyal & hard working fans, the last to know about a new hit and video that is happening?????????????
Claire BLAKE SLEEPS WITH MY QUILT
8 DAYS TO TULSA
15 DAYS TO BILOXI
I agree, Claire, that 6 (which I believe was the official peak) is pretty dang good. I got the feeling from the person I was chatting with that the powers that be felt it was a less than stellar performance because it slowly built to there instead of shooting up the chart. Don't get me wrong, I love IJHO personally. That key change during the overdubbed choruses kills me. I just don't think it was the optimal song to follow up SWBG with. It's not my decision though obviously and now that it's done I think it's a bad idea to scrap the rest of Startin' Fires just because that single didn't perform as quickly as "they" would have liked.
Whatever happened to the discussion of 'Green' or 'Country Strong' being the next single? I'd rather see either of those get a shot (even though neither is my fave song on the album) to chart before we just scrap all the rest of the album.
I just don't understand this decision at all if it is indeed true but from my sources it's sure sounding like it's true.
On the upside though, my sources also tell me that there's a special guest on the new single and I'm intrigued to hear it - JUST NOT YET! LOL
@blakeshelton Blake I had a dream about you last night and I woke up completely unsatisfied. (via @RenaeDawn) Sorry.. I had a lot to drink....

I too believe that there are several good songs that could be introduced to radio from Blake's Startin Fires album before moving on to something else. I also believe that music videos play a major role in how fast a song rises on the charts. I think that with a music video to IJHO, the song would have moved faster up the charts and possibly hit number 1.
I also would like to know why we, the loyal fan club members, seem to be the last to know about anything that's going on with Blake. I'm thinking that that's one of the major reasons why we joined the fan club.

Hey all! I do agree with all of you. But you might want to think about this: The next single might be a bonus track to Startin Fires. It might be a marketing matter to get the album to rerelease and have additional songs added to it. He did do that with Pure BS and it was a huge success. As for not finding things out on his board and through his fan club, I can understand why you all feel that way. One would think that you would find out marketing ploys through the fan club, special appearances, etc. But fan clubs are essentially built by the fans with a strong support backing of his team. His fans usually do the marketing for the artist. They surf the web for hours on end for articles, videos, etc and then post them on the forum. With the rise of twitter I am seeing a lot of fan clubs and not just Blakes in general share the same concerns. Perhaps, this is a struggle for the marketing team on how to figure out how to solicit the fan club and make it worthwhile. I did see on Craig Morgan's website that his fans were a bit disatisfied because there were no personal blogs and such. His team is attempting to fix that by posting special videos of his crazy adventures and clips from a tv show he is developing. I am not in his fan club but you can read some of his blogs on his site for free. Hang in there, hopefully his team and BS get it together and figure something out. In the meantime, post more positive suggestions about what they could do to make it better for all involved. Perhaps, we should make a special topic for suggestions for the fan club, board, etc. That might be a good way to start.
Bring back Bobby.
I am hoping that Trace's fan club will help us out on getting Hillbilly Bone up the charts quicker, that'd be a nice treat! And even nicer is that there's already a video shot for it. It doesn't seem that singles have a chance without a video- so yeah IJHO did well considering.
Startin' Fires wasn't as solid as the rest of what Blake's done- so maybe everyone's decided to stop beating that drum. It is a waste that nothing more came out of it, but what do we know- we're just the fans. (at least Blake cares what we think!)
I too love a lot of other songs from Startin Fires. Green was always my favorite, maybe because that is my favorite color
I came upon 100 miles on my ipod today, and was having that very thought that its too bad they've moved on. A lot of good music from that album.
However, I'm thinkin if they move on to a new song and new album to follow, that just means new music for me that much sooner!! LOVE that thought!!

I too felt like there were songs more worthy of being singles on Startin' Fires than IJHO, it wasn't one of my choices either, while the new single is certainly country enough, I am not all that big of a fan of Trace's, but I hope Blake sees more success with this one. Personally I'd like to see him singing something with more depth to it, like he did on 100 Miles
I agree there were a lot of songs in starin fires that deserved to be a single. You have all these other artsit that have three or more singles off there albums plus videos to go with with it. This new song of blakes will be a hit we just want more singles and videos... Blake is the best and deserves it.. WE love ya Blake.
Blakes#1fan. Blake is my one hot mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am melting for shelton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
