MEET AND GREETS/ WAITING LIST
I am very confused (as everyone else is too) But could SOMEONE please let us know how the meet and greets work. Is it a ramdom thing or since most peoples memberships was just rolled over if you was one of the people who paid to renew their membership do they automatically get one or what. Like most on here I am used to the old way things were done and I know that things change but it would be nice to be given some info on how things are being done. I only used 1 of my 3 last year and its been since July 08 since I have had one.
Also, I am very very confused on the WAITING LIST? If everyone that got denied is put on a waiting list who gets picked from that is something comes up?
Also, atleast one fan club member didn't get her confirmation, although she was on the list. So, everyone needs to make sure that their emails are set to accept mail from the new email address. While we have never had that many members from OK in the past, cheap wedding dresses, bridal dresses, designer wedding dress, wedding gowns, wholesale wedding dresses to all over the world Bride dresses
Blake should be coming to Tulsa in 10-09 so those who missed may have another chance then.
we'll have to wait and see what happens at the NEXT meet & greets....
I'm thinking the kids might have belonged to someone at the venue....just guessing.
Blake's family and friends do not cut into the M&Gs for fan club members. It is
possible that there were new fans that aren't recognizable to most of us. Also, at
least one fan club member didn't get her confirmation, although she was on the list.
So, everyone needs to make sure that their emails are set to accept mail from the new
email address. While we have never had that many members from OK in the past, I
could sense a new appreciation for Blake at this last show....so that may be changing.
Maybe a LOT of Okies decided to jump on the BS bandwagon. I hope so!!!
------------------------------------------------------------
Yanno, it COULD be possible that Blake requested more for family and friends than usual at a show. We really don't know the circumstances...
As for the age thing, that sucks. :( That doesn't really have anything to do with the M&G, but the venue. I wonder if it was someone's family (staff person or something.) They should follow their own rules, though!

Jessica
I told ya weeks ago it was hard to swallow that all of a sudden when WB takes over, there are 60 M&G requests? what a coincidence!
Ann- I am sorry you didn't get a call from Willow or Carri when the other 10 people canceled their meet & greets!!! (tongue in cheek)
All you need to do is take a look at the M&G photos and it is hard to find our BSers in there.
So there were 60 BSFC members applied for a M&G ...PURE BS!!
the venue said you had to be 21 and over to attend...then there are 2 kids i'd say who were around 10 yrs old...so if they got in my daughter should have been able to attend...sometimes the rules are broken and other times u totally don't understand.
If there aren't any age restrictions for the venue, then there shouldn't be for the M&G...
---
Jessica
I also noticed that in the M&G there were 2 kids there...when i was told 21 and over and my daughter would have loved to have seen Blake, what's up with that, they are special because of some M&G from radio or something...that ticks me off...
Yeah, I know. :(

Jessica
I understand the promotion by media, but I do think they get too many passes. There is usually families there: Tom, Dick & Harry. I was at one where the dj got to meet him: He already knew him and had other opportunities that I didn't to meet him. That's what tees me off.

BLAKE SLEEPS WITH MY QUILT
Yep, I hear that! :-/
BS has to also "stay friendly" with radio so they'll play his stuff, too. Politics!!!
And is it unfortunate that people won't renew just because of the M&G situation. I don't really agree with that (them not renewing, not the statement that they won't) because I join fan clubs for more than the M&Gs!! It's a perk, not a guarantee! (That's not why I was in Sara's and why I didn't renew. I didn't renew because of MCN being in charge of it and it turning to crap, basically.) I join to support the artist, to converse and meet with other fans, for the perks, etc. It's a total package!

Unfortuately for Blake, I'm afraid there will be BSer's that will not renew their memberships if they aren't as likely to get a m&g. I have heard a few grumbles about not getting much for your money and now if they don't have much chance of a m&g well, who can blame them?
Very good point Ann!!!
Yes..we all knew there would come a day when we may not be allowed as many m&g's per year, but if it's gonna be tough to get even 1, I can understand that people wouldn't renew. It's "BS" that radio is allowed so many more passes in comparison to the fan club--We are the ones who are supporting him & many of us have done so for several years! I understand it's good for promoting him, but on the other hand I have to say..There are many BS'ers who work much harder than WB does to support Blake. I am not being "catty" or taking a dig at them..I'm being honest!

Jessica, I agree. In the original Blake Fan Club, Blake gave Carol & Patti 20 m&g passes for the fan club and sometimes they got overflow passes which meant more BSer's got to see Blake. I went to Firelake this past weekend and I was first in line to enter the venue after the VIP's (reserved seating) and m&g people and there were only 10 that were BSer's. I know because I counted them and the passes are a different shape and color from the other types of m&g passes. They all had to file past me single file to get in and if they didn't have their pass on then they stopped them and made them put the sticker on. I was supposedly the number one on the waiting list and believe me I left my cell phone number with Team BS. I didn't get the call though! Roni the idea behind the waiting list sounds good, but if you are number 3 or 4 I doubt you will ever be called and even numbers 1 or 2 would rarely be called if only 10 Bser's are getting a m&g pass. The o dds are not good.

-Actually, we went in overflo after 10 passes were
granted and never went over 20. For a long time,
we only had 10 to give. When it was upgraded to
20, it was primarily so more of the brand new members
and tenured members who hadn't met Blake in a year
had a better chance. That's when we came up with
the formula that we used. It took a lot of bookkeeping
to keep up with all that. But the bottom line for us
was 10 or fewer requests, everyone was approved,
but it it went over 10, we followed the formula and
allowed passes up to 20 based on those guidelines.
We had a wait list over 20 and if there was a cancellation,
the next person on the wait list got it.
What Team BS is doing is similar.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Exactly. Like Sara Evans only being allowed 8 slots for FC members per show. And only 1 chance per year. That's ridiculous and a big reason why I didn't renew my FC membership with her after 6 years... :( That and the FC is extremely unpersonable (I know that's not a word) now that it's run by MCN.
If some of the radio/venue passes can be taken away to allow for more FC members, I'm all for it. ;) I know they do need to "advertise", but (IMO) there's no reason the radio/venue should be given 50 passes while the FAN CLUB only gets 8.

I agree that I like the waiting list idea. My only suggestion would be - and this may be to difficult to do because it would mean addressing each one individually - that your email that says you're on the waiting list should include how many are in front of you on that list so you have some idea of whether you have a snowball's chance of actually getting the M&G or not.
While I agree it would be nice if you had some idea of your chances of winning a MG once placed on the "waiting" list, but in all reality that's like knowing your chances of winning the lottery! No one really knows who or how many might cancel, I guess knowing where you rank on the list, like #2 out of 10 would be nice I guess, but still not very helpful.
I personally see nothing wrong with WB giving away MG's to radio stations as long as it doesn't take away from the fan club members, we all know there are some areas where it could be very realistic that 40-50 people might just ask for a MG, and then there are times where there might be a handful. I know when we went to Vegas to see Blake, there was the couple that got their MG thru CMT and MAYBE 4-6 total of actual fan club MG stickers seen that night and we had 2 of em.Now if how disappointing would it be to an artist to have a MG with only 6 people showing up? That particular MG grew instantly to like 50 from Radio MG's and Venue MG's which in the long run just might get you a paying fan club member or two!
I too have nothing but good things to say about Team BS, this is a huge undertaking on their behalf. Having a WAIT list is a great idea, there are times when one doesn't have a week or 4 days to cancel a MG, things happen last minute all the time.
While I think having a general rule in place helps, it also helps that Team BS is willing to actually call people for those last minute opportunities. That's pretty good on their part!
Yep, I have had nothing but good things to say about Team BS, Jess.
That's great that they answered, Lisa, and are making efforts to call people!

This is a copy of the email that was sent out to all BSers that had a computer pertaining to their M&G.
It was my last M&G with Blake.
Nov 9th M&G with Blake
From: Meet & Greet Pass Request (passes@bsersfanclub.com)
Sent: Tue 10/16/07 11:39 AM
To: Connie
*******,
Please read this entire email for all instructions.
Your request for a meet & greet on November 9th in Morton, MN has been approved! If you find you need to cancel your pass, you may do so up to 7 days prior to the show by emailing cancel@bsersfanclub.com .
All meet & greets are generally being held ONE HOUR prior to the show. (Some shows have openers or other issues which make the meet & greets earlier, so we strongly suggest checking our message board prior to the show for up-to-date times)
We suggest arriving at your pass pick-up location a minimum of 1 ½ hours prior to show time. Traffic, crowds and venue differences all need to be taken into account when planning your arrival time. Currently, time constraints may limit autograph time. If the road manager tells you no autographs during your meet & greet, it means they are on a strict time schedule. If that occurs, you are still welcomed to take your photo with Blake. Please be respectful of Blake, the road manager and the other fans by not taking up too much time. No cell phones or recording devices of any kind are allowed in the meet & greets.
**You can check the MEET & GREET section of the forum at http://www.bsersfanclub.com for latest Meet & Greet time information -- usually posted the day before the actual show.
Picking up your pass:
Photo ID will be required to claim your pass. Passes are non-transferable. The road manager will reserve the right to double check identification upon admittance to the meet & greet.
Passes will be held at the “Will Call” window when one is available. Most arenas, convention centers and theaters will have a “will call” window. Once you pick up your pass, read the instructions and head immediately to the meet & greet area. If you are late, security will NOT let you in.
If “will call” is not available, passes will be held at Blake’s merchandise table. You will find most fairs and festivals will not have a will call window. When passes are being held at the merchandise table, you will line up there and await the road manager to take you to the meet & greet – unless otherwise instructed.
Thanks for your support of Blake!
"Pure BS" is in stores NOW -- Request "The More I Drink" to your local station and watch the hilarious video on CMT & GAC!

Just fyi, I emailed Team BS the previous policy and someone emailed me back saying they appreciated it and they may even call people with last minute cancellations. So I would suggest if you are wait listed make sure they have a good number for you!
The old packet was sent which had all the MG approval/cancellation policies.
Sorry for any confusion. It obviously got lost during transition.

Thank you for the info, Team BS!!!

Jessica
Team BS, I beg to differ with you on the statement "Information about cancelations was not included in meet and greet details from the former fan club". This is my 5th year of membership in the fan club. It most certainly did and we had a certain amount of time before the show to cancel where it didn't count against our 3 total for the year. I had the unfortunate circumstance last year where I did have to cancel a meet and greet due to a dear friend losing his dad rather suddenly. I lost out on what I had spent for ticket, but not my meet and greet opportunity because I canceled in time. I would rather have gone to meet and greet and show, but friend needed me and my support.
Sue :-)
Sue I kind of got the impression from reading Team BS's response, was what they were saying was they were not informed of how cancellations were handled formerly, not that they were never addressed or existed in the old fan club.
*edited to include more info/re-word message*
Hello all -
The "waiting list" is in place, because there may possibly be times when management allows us to add extra people beyond our allotted fan club number to a meet & greet (and now we see there may be cancelations).
We haven't included any information about canceling in the past, as memebrs of Team BS handling meet & greets did not realize cancelations would be a common issue with BSers.
The meet & greet registration states that you must have a ticket, and must be going to the show if you are signing up for meet & greet - so please keep that in mind when you sign up for a meet & greet.
We are trying to run meet & greets as similarly as possible to the way the former fan club handled them (to make it easier for you to transition into the updated fan club) - please feel free to send us an E-mail or PM if you have any suggestions or questions about how the meet & greets are run.
We will add some extra info to the next round of meet & greet confirmations regarding cancellations.
In the meantime: If you would like to cancel your request, just send an e-mail to bserfanclub@gmail.com with your name/username/Blake show info.
Our apologies to the BSers we may have confused with the wording of the pre-edit post. Thank you for your understanding!
- Carri and Willow & Team BS
maybe this will help, I have quite a few of each laying around.
Thanks for your input Team BS! I think that the idea of a waiting list in the event that more MG's are added is an awesome idea!
I have every reason to believe that you are doing whatever it takes to make the selection process fair to all concerned!
They could come clarify and we wouldn't have to ask. lol ;)
Thanks, Patti!

Jessica
Thanks for the infor Patti.
Send an email to bserfanclub@gmail.com. Ask them if there is a specific email address to notify if you need to cancel your request. Ask if there is a time period that you have to cancel by. Ask if someone cancels will the next person on the waiting list be approved and notified before the show.
:)
-----------------------------------------------------
I agree, I hope TEAM BS is reading and seeing how frustrated some of us are and how they are going to loose some long members!
Cindy, I'll Just Hold on for more BS
They probably should be something about canceling... but I would kinda think that would be common sense. lol I mean, if you don't show up, you lose it!
---
Jessica
Common sense it's a terrible thing to waste! I'd hate to lose my MG just because I "forgot" to cancel. Make sense to me!
Hey TEAM BS I hope you are reading all of this as you have many unhappy BSers on the way you are handling the M&G passes and inconsistent answers.
I've heard from other BS'ers that in their confirmation email--It states absolutely nothing about reminding you to cancel ahead of time if you are unable to attend. So what good is the so called waiting list anyway? Sounds to me if you are put on it, ya might as well consider yourself DENIED!
This all stinks!
-------------------------------------------------------------
ILBSER
I dunno I would think it's pretty much common sense to inform WB if you need to cancel, but then that's just how I think.
