I didn't post over here because the board was/is too hard to maneuver, slow and confusing (not to mention the colors) and I feel guilty for not being a "Good" BSer. So then I come over and decide that I am not going to be kept away from the forum anymore - I will tough it out and post as much as I can...

Just for clarity - I was trying to post in the THANKS STEPH thread and say "You guys are so funny!" That was it - not like I used a code word for bomb or something. For the love of everything holy.
This is just ridiculous. In EVERY thread that I wanted to post a response in I had to type in the "captcha" and play the game to get my words to appear. Ok, I did that - now I CAN'T post because - why? I have posted too many times??
I wonder why BSers are dropping like hotcakes....

The whole quote thing can be tricky! The captcha is annoying, I don't think it's related to number of posts though, who the heck knows what triggers it but it would be nice IF it would catch the real spammers ; ) certainly they are not taking time out of their spamming time to enter special codes so they can post that garbage.
I agree with it too Ann (and Jess). It's really confusing that the quote doesn't stand out in some way so we can see who is saying what...I hope that changes soon!!! It's a New Year - perfect time for a NEW BOARD!!!! :)

Hi Laura, welcome to the board!
You are coming in a little late to the game, so some things are being worked on (hopefully!) but some of it is still very frustrating. When I was posting, every single time I tried to, there was a captcha that I had to fill in to get my post to actually [i]post[/i]. Then after so many times of doing that, the spam filter stopped me from posting [i]at all[/i]. THAT is very frustrating. I am thankful you haven't had to experience that, but if you do, I am certain it would upset you.

Oh Laura, I so totally agree with you! Smaller banners would be helpful! Also, I am never sure what is a quote, what is the reply or where exactly the new message ends and the signature phrase and banners begin and end.

Welcome to the forum Laura! I've never really had any problems navigating the forum, or problems with speed either. Just about every forum I've visited has banners on them and they function without problems, I am a member of another forum which utilizes and "enable" or "disable" signature function for those that find them distracting and that's a GREAT option to have!

I have no idea how the hell I got 400+ posts. I am seriously NEVER here. it's a good thing I can keep up with my paisans ANYWAY!
I emailed Team BS the other day, but never heard back. BUT -- I am well over 200 posts and (knock on wood here people) it hasn't asked me to do it since yesterday. WoOhOo!!

Okay, maybe I have figured it out.....I have less than 100 posts, while all of you above have over 200. Maybe if you have fewer posts you get the captcha....if so I am declaring DISCRIMINATION! gotta say one of the reasons I was giggling at Sabrina is because *I* of all people, have never had to enter a captcha on this site.
Like Renae & Veronica, I probably just jinxed it, but thankfully it isn't the bsersfanclub.com site where I posted 100 times a day!
I think it's totally random, but who knows. I've encountered it twice and you're right it is annoying! Jess I too was like WTH!!!!!!! I guess it was placed with good intentions, I've seen spammers in the darndest areas, even in photo comments. Renae I hope you haven't just jinxed yourself!

I can't figure out what the trigger for the captcha is either. I know you ladies have been complaining about it but I haven't encountered it yet (pretty sure I probably just jinxed myself - LOL).
At any rate, I've got a photobucket image in my sig too and so far I've never had a problem with the captcha so I don't think it's photobucket that's the trigger.

It didn't make me do it when I replied this morning, we'll see if it catches me throughout the day. That's the FIRST time I HAVEN'T had to do it though. It has to be something in my signature or something. SO confusing!

Sabrina, thanks for the laugh. I complained about the captcha also and Team BS responded that we would be getting a new board. Maybe it will be better then. :)

I have already complained about the captcha Sabrina! I tried the "oral" captcha one time cause I was having trouble getting the typed one correct and it didn't work at all. I need my rolling eyes emoticon here! Rarely do I post for many reasons, but the captcha is one of those reasons. I almost always have to do it at least twice.

I am finally able to respond to threads again. ( Of course I still have to fill in the riddle ;) )I think if I stop typing the words "and" or "the" maybe it will let me actually post without being a threat to the spam filter that has been established...
