Cross Canadian Ragweed

Ragweed anybody?

They're one of my very very favorites. Even when I wasn't much into country music (in the before time - LOL) I still had a thing for Ragweed. Maybe it's the fact that they do things their own way and don't bend to the will of the Nashville machine. Maybe it's because they're local Oklahoma boys (in fact, I live less than 5 miles from what they call "home") and they have a huge following here. Maybe it's because they're not "traditional" country - in fact the best description I've heard of Ragweed's music is "country grunge". Or maybe it's just because there's something so sexy about Cody Canada even if he does sometimes look unwashed.

Seriously, I think it's the drawl. If you haven't heard Cody Canada speak and you're a fan of drawls you should listen to him. Too sexy.

I've seen them live several times and the show never disappoints. It's also never the same. Every Ragweed show is different. I'm convinced they don't actually do set lists and just play whatever they feel like playing.

I have tickets to see them again on May 1st in Stillwater (where they all went to college so that's gonna be a rockin' good time with old friends) and I can't wait for that show!

With Stoney LaRue - or as Cody calls him "the 4th member of Ragweed"

Try to keep it down! The boys are back in town!

Love me some Stoney!!!!! Damn girl I wanna be hungover with you! and the boys

Leave now cause I heard Stoney's gonna be there too.

@blakeshelton Blake I had a dream about you last night and I woke up completely unsatisfied. (via @RenaeDawn) Sorry.. I had a lot to drink....

OMG Renae!!!! I wish I could! The last Hangover Ball I went to was a blast!!!! Good times! I'll have to find some pics to share with ya! Have fun for me!!!!! Wade Freakin' Bowen, Adam Freakin' Hood! and Cody Freakin' Canada!!!!!!! Gosh if I left now I could make it!!!! Girl you're situated right in the middle of heaven, so not fair.

I am missing my boys! I need a CCR fix soon.

I like that song too Renae, I too can't figure out what it's about. Love the tweet back from Blake! lol

[quote=hisbabygirl]They just keep re-inventing themselves! I am loving their latest CD! Love "Pretty Lady!"

That's one of my faves off that album too, Court! I'm really digging '51 Pieces' too even though I can't figure out what the hell that song is about. LOL

I don't really like them. I got several cds from the library, but I didn't think they were that good.

I have only heard the one song and the video they have out but I do like it and like that style of music too. I was a "Deadhead" in my younger years so the no set list type of shows are what I used to go to. Just play whatever you feel like at the time.
Basically, there is not too much I don't like in the country music genre. I like everything from bluegrass to old traditional country to the "new" country that they call what they play now. Country "grunge" is a new phrase I haven't heard before but I like it.
You have a good time at the show in May.
