Laura,

Thanks for your quick response! Keep me in mind if you happen to hear of any great seats for sale Craigs List or otherwise. I assume those will pop up closer to the event, so thought I better buy my general admission anyway. I'm an hour north of Seattle, but could see myself making an event out of it every year. If I recall, there was someone there last year that I woulda liked to see?!? Was it Jake? I cant remember.

I hadn't heard Travis Tritt and Neal McCoy were gonna be there. Last time I checked the Oregon Jamboree site, they weren't listed. Keep me posted as those other 5 names are announced! Blake is my fav, but I love going to all concerts, so cant wait to hear who else will be there!!

Dear Pearlms1974,
I did take a look at the www.oregonjamboree.com website to see what it said about VIP seats...and you're right...sold out. All I could say is to call the OJ office directly to see if you could be put on a waiting list. Most of us VIP'ers continue to purchase our tickets year by year but I have seen folks put thiers up for sale on E-bay or Craigslist if they decide they cannot use them for the year. It is the biggest country music festival in this area and we tend not to give up our seats since we try not to miss out on the great 3-day concert they give each year.

This year has proved to have great headliners with Keith Urban on Friday, Blake Shelton on Saturday, and Miranda Lambert on Sunday. Not to mention the awesome folks in between. So far we know it will be Travis Tritt, Oak Ridge Boys, Neal McCoy, Marty Stewart, and the Bellamy Brothers. And they still have 5 more acts to announce!!

Until I obtained my front row seats (I aquired them after my dad died) we had General Admission (i.e. carry your own chair in) and it was fine. Now they have improved things a lot and have HUGE Video Screens ("Jumbotrons") so you will still have a decent view filmed by professional camera men and you can hear well from all over the festival site.

As far as lodging I prefer to RV camp, which in my opinion is better than tent camping, you might try renting an RV? We used to drive back and forth each day because we just live in Albany which is only 25 miles away. The OJ website does not do justice to the hotels of the area as Albany and Lebanon have many hotels not listed on the OJ site (Lebanon is only about 15 miles away).

Good Luck!! Hope to see you there!! ~Lauraf68

Hey Laura, Do you have any idea how to get some of those VIP seats? Says they are sold out!! Very upset that there is no potential for good seats for this Pacific Northwest BSer!! So, I haven't even bought the general admission seats yet!! But I will have to soon!! So, where does one stay? Not sure I'm up to camping...

Monica, if your hunting buddy isn't willing, hang with Lisa and I! Or, hang with us anyway!! Lisa wont bite, and I dont even think I will need one of those corn dog sticks prodding me!! Although that meet and greet was the best talking I've ever done with the thought of you and Liz behind me ARMED!!

So far, I'm not going down with anyone, just meeting up with Lisa farther south. We can meet up and drive the 5 hours together!! A little too far out for me to plan including whether or not I can even take the time off to go to the Friday evening Keith show or the Sunday Miranda show. Heck, if Blake is in the area performing other shows, you can bet I will dog out on Miranda and Keith!!

Have a wonderful time. Love Oregon a beautiful state. Would be a great trip have a great time. Linda & Dorothy (BlakesNDgirls)

WOW Front Row! Won't that be sweet! Have a great time! Let us know how it goes.
It's unfortunate that some idiots in the audience have to be rude to any artist! We were in a theater seeing Willy Nelson once, and someone started boo'ing the opening band, I was like "take this time to go get another beer or something!" Good grief!
I guarantee ya if anyone heckles Blake, he'll do his best to ignore, and if it continues, he will dish it right back!

As a faithful front row attender of the Oregon Jamboree I am thrilled we will be seeing Blake this year!! (Pretty darn excited to see Miranda is coming the next day too!)

Yes, last year's Jamboree was the same week as a heat wave and the was the hottest we have had in quite a while, actually the whole Summer of 2009 in Oregon was VERY hot! But there have been years we have had rain and cold weather. (At the 1999 Jamboree during Toby Keith's set it was quite chilly and very rainy. Unfortunately Toby was not feeling well, had a bit of laryngitis and some dummies in the audience boo'ed him -- he left the stage. In Toby's defence I thought it was great he tried and am sorry folks were rude to him.)

But surely no one will be rude to Blake and by the time he hits the stage at 8:45 Saturday evening the sun will be going down and it should be a nice cool 70-80 degree July evening. Sweet Home is to the east of the Willamette Valley at the base of the Cascade Mountains (Southeast of Salem), and around here we have a saying....if you don't like the weather just wait an hour and it will change!!

Welcome to Oregon Country Blake!! We look forward to seeing and hearing you!!
~Laura

I went last year and it was a lot of fun. Got a message out to my Cowboy Huntin' buddy to see if she wants to go. Be warned though if you've never gone. It's VERY hot and there is NO shade. I burned really bad last year.

Since the pocketbook is empty. I have to be talked into it.
